Welcome ro the Correct Weight Loss show with Dr Jasvin and Suresh. Today we are going to talk about the concept of Correct Weight Loss. Correct Weight Loss is actually a concept that should apply to people of all walks of life. This is irrespective of whether you are overweight, obese, just slightly overweight or if you just want to tone up your body. Irrespective of which ever point you start at, Correct Weight loss is a very holistic sort of way to reach your weight loss goals. With this progress comes a host of other benefits such as better health, more energy level, increased fitness and a more shaplier body.
In essence, Correct Weight Loss is a lifestyle approach to the weight loss problem. If you go back to 200 years ago, there were hardly any obese people. Today half the world is having a weight problem. It shows that weight loss is indeed a lifestyle problem. A lifestyle problem can only be effectively addressed with a lifestyle based solution. This is exactly what Correct Weight Loss is all about. It is a lifestyle based solution that helps people reach their weight targets. At the same time, it helps you become more youthful while increasing your wellness level.
Aesthetics is how beautiful your body looks. For women, it could be an hourglass shaped body while for men, it could be a “V” shaped body.
Performance relates to how fast, strong, flexible you are. Imagine an Olympic athlete as someone with high performance.
Wellness relates to your wellbeing and health.
Imagine aesthetics, performance and wellness as 3 circles. Correct Weight Loss happens where these 3 circles intercept. This is what we call the Correct Weight Loss zone. The Correct Weight Loss zone can be reached by adhering to 7 key principles. These 7 key principles are;
- Correct nutrition
- Correct supplementation
- Correct exercise
- Correct restoration which includes rest, sleep and relaxation
- Correct education and motivation
- Correct social support
- Correct feedback
These 7 key principles address both the physiological as well as the psychological side of losing weight. This helps you make the necessary lifestyle changes to achieve sustainable weight loss. Psychological transformation is extremely important to achieve your weight loss target and to sustain it for the rest of your life.
You may still reach your weight loss goals if you have not followed one or more of the above principles. Whether you can sustain it for the rest of your life is a big doubt.
I (Jasvin) know a lot of people who go on yo-yo diets. Others exercise for a little while and then they stop. At the end of their weight loss efforts, they regain their weight. These people start blaming their diets or find faults with their exercise programs. People need to realize that weight loss requires a holistic approach. It could be that they did not rest properly, or they did not exercise properly or their nutrition was all wrong. This could have primed their body for weight regain.
You may be able to visualize incorrect weight loss with this analogy. Assume that you were driving from Los Angeles to New York. It is going to be a very tough and stressful journey if you were pressing the accelerator and the brakes at the same time. It is going to consume a lot of energy and your car may even break down before you even reach New York.
The Correct Weight Loss concept addresses the 7 keys so that your leg is gently removed off the brakes. You can then focus on gently pressing the accelerator. This way, you get to your destination efficiently and effectively.
It is not about only losing the weight but also sustaining the weight loss afterwards. That is why the Correct Weight Loss concept presents an efficient way of losing weight,
Sometimes people want to lose the weight quickly. But when you lose weight quickly, you end up doing it wrongly. Incorrect weight loss always comes back. That is not the most efficient way. It may be quick weight loss but is definitely is not efficient. weight loss. If you do it correctly, you get to your destination and you maintain it. That is why it is not only effective but also an efficient way to lose weight.
