Lose Weight Fast (Part 1)- What You Must Know
Anyone who is trying to lose weight will look for ways to lose weight fast. It may have taken months or even years to gain the weight but people want to lose it overnight. We live in fast paced times where we expect quick results in all our endeavors.
When looking for ways to lose weight fast, understand your body’s limitations
Unfortunately, people do not realize that the body has physical limitations. Your body is a sophisticated machine and has limitations just as you would expect from any other machine. When it comes to looking for ways to lose weight fast, you need to be aware that the body has a physical limitation to its fat burning capability.
The amount of fat that your body can burn is largely dependent on the amount of mitochondria that you have in your body. The mitochondria are the tiny power plants in your cells where your body burns fat. It is important for people to understand this concept. They need to understand that fat has to be burned if you want to remove it from your body. It cannot be made to disappear. They need to then understand that fat has to be burned in the mitochondria. You can only burn so much fat in a given time.
Fastest weight loss is when you lose it once and keep it off
The fastest weight loss is when you get the weight off and keep it off. People who are looking for the holy grail of weight loss usually spend their entire lives looking for it. Weight loss gimmicks may enable you to lose weight overnight but it may not be pure fat loss. You may also lose muscle and water. If you do lose muscle and water, you will be setting yourself up for rebound weight gain. When people get rebound weight gain, they put back all the weight and more. They are back where they started or in a worse place.
It is not fast weight loss if the weight comes back on
People looking for fast weight loss must have this long-term picture in sight. Gimmicks, diets, pills and drugs provide fast overnight weight loss. In the long-term there is probably no net difference. There may even be a net gain in weight due to the compromised metabolism.
Fundamentals of fast weight loss
Fast weight loss requires you to go back to the fundamentals of healthy nutrition, exercise, supplementation and adequate restoration. These are the keys of correct weight loss. When you lose weight in accordance with the 7 keys of correct weight loss, the weight comes off and stays off.
In Part 1 of this interesting discussion, Suresh and Paramjit discuss about some important issues that must be known to anyone wanting to lose weight. This is especially pertinent to those wanting to lose weight fast.

Transcript of “Ways to Lose Weight Fast”
Hello I am Suresh and I am Paramjit and we are from the Correct Weight Loss Team.
[Suresh] Today we are going to talk about an interesting topic called “What you need to know to about ways to lose weight fast“. I think the world wants to lose weight fast. So I guess it is important to know some of the key things on how to lose weight fast.
[Paramjit] Hopefully by the time we are through, people can get a better understanding of what we define as fast weight loss and still be within the bounds of sustainable and healthy weight loss.
[Suresh] You need to first understand the finer points about your body.Your body is more intelligent than your mind. It’s because the body is designed to keep you alive. If you do not understand how the body works to keep you alive, then you will be putting in a lot of effort without understanding what you are doing. What’s going to happen is that you are going to lose weight and gain it back. That is definitely not learning to lose weight fast. Although you may lose it quick, you will get it back just as fast. That is not fast. In the long run, its slow.
[Paramjit] Can you imagine someone digging a hole. He digs a hole, he gets 6 feet deep and then he comes out and covers it back. Then he says I don’t have a hole. He digs it back and covers it back again.
[Suresh] That’s what most people do. Because they don’t understand that what they are doing is actually not helping them. Weight loss that is sustainable is what we consider fast weight loss, in the long-term. For instance, look at some of the more popular people like Oprah and Kirstie Alley. They lose weight and gain it back. That’s because they do things on brute force. They don’t understand the finer points and science of fat loss and weight loss. You must lose weight once and then sustain it for the rest of your life. That is what we call losing weight fast.
[Paramjit] I want to hammer in on that point because I believe when it comes to weight loss, fast is slow and slow is fast. Think about it. When people use some of these gimmicky or fast weight loss methods, they actually spend their whole lives chasing weight loss. The weight loss could take 10 or 20 years. Some of them even die trying.
[Suresh] Yes that is very sad.
[Paramjit] Yes that is very sad indeed. But if you do it correctly, it may take you 6 months or 12 months but it is still faster than 10 years or a lifetime. If you do it correctly, that’s the fast way to lose weight. The main thing is that if you want fast weight loss, no matter what you do, it must be something sustainable. It has to be something where there is no rebound weight gain. It has to come off and stay off.
[Suresh] For that, you have got to understand how the body works.
[Paramjit] Exactly.
[Suresh] The other thing to note is that you have to measure the right parameters. A lot of people measure weight.
[Paramjit] This is the most fundamental flaw.
[Suresh] Yes it is a very fundamental flaw. Once you use just the weighing scales to measure how fast you are losing weight, you have already started on the wrong footing. What you got to measure is body fat. You have to use calipers to measure fat loss. That is the key to sustainable weight loss. If you just use the weighing scale, you don’t know if you are losing weight from water muscle or fat. When you lose weight from muscle and water, you are going to get a rebound. So it’s important to make sure that you only lose fat.
[Paramjit] This may actually be the reason of the obesity problem. People are actually after something but they are using a wrong measurements to attain it.
[Suresh] The golden rule of sustainable weight loss is to lose a maximum of 2 pounds of fat a week. Now 2 pounds of fat a week does not mean you lose 2 pounds of weight a week. Its pure fat. There might be weeks where you lose 2 pounds of fat and gain 1 pound of muscle. Therefore your net impact is only 1 pound of weight loss. There may even be weeks when you lose 2 pounds of fat and gain 2 pounds of muscle. In this case you may not have any weight loss at all. But you are making very good progress as long as sustainable and fast weight loss is concerned.
[Paramjit] As well as body shape.
[Suresh] It’s just that you don’t see it on the weighing scales. So it is important that you know that you have measured the right parameters. That will keep you motivated and moving towards the right goal.
[Paramjit] Now these 2 pounds of fat loss a week is not something that was plucked out off the sky.
[Suresh] It is based on sound scientific principles.
[Paramjit] It is even recommended by the American College of Sports Medicine. This is what they would say are within the guidelines of healthy weight loss.
[Suresh] .. and sustainable weight loss which again is fast weight loss
[Paramjit] You know this is pure common sense. Your body’s fat burning capability is limited. There is only so much of fat you can burn per day or per hour.
[Suresh] It is illogical that your body can rev up the furnace as it pleases.
[Paramjit] The fat is not going to just disappear into thin air.
[Suresh] Anything more than 2 pounds a week, is probably fat and muscle loss. That is bad news. When you start losing muscles, your metabolism slows down and you are going to have rebound weight gain. It will come back with a vengeance. This is the short cut. Don’t short cut the short cut. You will get the results that you desire.

Interesting post. In order to lose weight fast and safely, one must set realistic targets such as 2 pounds over a period of a week. With this in mind it is important to take a stock of what your diet consists of. It will help to make a list of everything that is eaten and drunk during a week or ten days. Then another list must be made of how much activity is carried out during the same period. Along with this list it is important to note how much sleep the individual’s getting. Sleep is very important when combined with a weight loss diet.

Thank you for your comment Aisha. Most people have a challenge keeping track of the food and drinks that they have consumed although a food diary is extremely effective at increasing awareness of dietary habits. Thanks for pointing out all the other facts as well which help weight loss.

Great information here, I think the motivation to lose weight has to come from yourself, nobody can do it for you, you will need to make a decision whether you’re gonna be fragile and stay overweight, or you want to be strong and get in shape.

Attack the problem of obesity from different angles. If you really want to rid yourself of that ugly belly fat for good and get firm flat abs, you need to be focusing on an entirely different realm of workout techniques… and this does NOT involve hours of boring cardio every week! You have to get a thorough understanding of the blood sugar and insulin process in your body and how this affects your ability to lose belly fat as well as the most effective method of meal and nutrient timing to best stimulate fat loss and muscle recovery.

Great post. I especially found it useful where you stated that losing weight is based on scientific principles. It is also important to know that if you are trying to lose fat that you need to eat properly. Food is fuel for your body. This is a scientific principle. To burn fat you need to watch the amount of carbohydrates you eat and monitor the time of day you eat them. Stay away from sugar if you want to lose fat. Your body uses carbs for energy. In order to stay in fat burning mode it has to have certain types of carbs for fuel and sugar is not one of them. If you are exercising the body it also needs certain amounts of protein and fat to substain the muscle you are building. You can turn your body into a fat burning machine you just need to know how to eat to do this.
