Quickest Way to Lose Weight
Everyone looks for the quickest way to lose weight. People take years to gain weight and yet want to lose all of it overnight. There are 2 aspects to this discussion.
The first aspect relates to those who are looking for quick fix solutions. These quick fix solutions may give you initial weight loss, but you are very unlikely to be able to sustain it. This topic is discussed at length in this video.
The other aspect is for those who are genuinely looking for the quickest way to lose weight that is also sustainable. The only way to do this is to lose weight correctly. Essentially, this means that all of your weight loss must come from losing fat. When you lose weight correctly, you are able to lose weight and look good. You will look youthful and have a sexier body shape.
The golden rule for healthy weight loss is to lose 2 pounds of fat per week. If all of your weight loss comes from fat loss, you should not be losing more than 2 pounds of weight per week.
This seems to be the internal limit in the body for burning fat. When you lose more than 2 pounds of weight per week, you are most likely losing muscle and water.
Follow the 7 keys of correct weight loss and you will surely have the quickest weight loss and the weight loss will be sustainable. When it comes to losing weight, fast is slow and slow is fast. It is faster to lose weight correctly once, than to lose weight in-correctly and repeat the process over and over again.

Video Transcript of the Quickest Way to Lose Weight
Hi I am Dr Jasvin and I am Suresh Velauthan. We are from the Correct Weight Loss Team.
The Quickest Way to Lose Weight is Losing it Correctly
[Starts at 0:00:07.1]
[Suresh] Today we are going to talk about the quickest way to lose weight. I think it is a very interesting and popular topic. Everyone wants the quickest way to lose weight. Let me tell you this. The quickest way to lose weight is to lose weight correctly.
[Suresh] If you lose weight with the wrong methods, you are going to get rebound after rebound after rebound. That is why it really does not make sense to go for quick fixes. The correct way to lose weight will be the quickest way to lose weight. This will allow you to lose it and you can easily sustain it.
Incorrect Weight Loss Methods Lead to Weight Rebound
[Starts at 0:00:42.7]
[Suresh] Dr Jasvin, would you like to add anything to that?
[Dr Jasvin] I think that one of the things that I would want to add is that people who use incorrect methods of weight loss end-up having rebound weight gain. They actually find that after a few rebounds, it becomes very difficult to lose weight.
[Suresh] Is it because it is physiologically difficult or is it because they have been psychologically frustrated?
[Dr Jasvin] People with rebound weight gain are psychologically frustrated. They say to themselves, “My god not again, I may lose weight but i will regain it anyway so why bother?”
Quick Fix Methods May be Starvation Diets
[Starts at 0:01:16.1]
[Dr Jasvin] Secondly, a lot of these quick weight loss methods are actually starvation diets. You end-up reducing your calories drastically. As an example, you may be on a diet where you eat only fruits. There are all sorts of starvation diets. People actually lose a lot of muscles. When they come off the diet and start eating normally, they start putting on fat.
Muscle Loss with Starvation Diets
[Starts at 0:01:43.2]
[Jasvin] They have lost muscles and as a result, their base metabolic rate has reduced. All the extra calories eaten turns to fat. It is just a matter of time before they are back at their old weight. What they have gained is fat at the cost of muscles. The next time they go on diet, they lose more muscles. They lose more muscles and their basal metabolic rate just keeps coming down with each diet they go on. They regain even more fat during the rebound.
Dieting and Rebound Weight Gain is a Vicious Cycle
[Starts at 0:02:05.2]
[Suresh] It is a vicious cycle. Everytime you have a rebound after a diet, it becomes tougher and tougher to get back in shape.
What is Your Default Option
[Starts at 0:02:16.9]
[Suresh] I read somewhere about the default option. That is if you don’t take care of ourselves and don’t exercise, you lose 0.5% of muscle mass per year after the age of 25. It climbs up to 1% of muscle loss per year after the age of 55. That is the default option.
When Someone Goes on a Diet, They Lose Muscle Mass
[Starts at 0:02:39.2]
[Suresh] When someone goes on a diet, they actually lose muscle as well as fat. They are actually accelerating their aging process. This is because losing muscle is the equivalent of accelerating the aging process.
[Dr Jasvin] Yes. You lose your flexibility and stability when you lose your muscle. As you grow older, you become less stable and have a tendency to fall and get injured. As you age, you will probably complain about lower back aches. All these are signs of weakening muscles.
Accelerated Aging with In-Correct Weight Loss Methods
[Starts at 0:03:18.2]
[Suresh] Diets accelerate muscle loss which then accelerates your aging process. Back to the point here. If you lose weight the wrong way, you will be demotivated because it is a slow way of losing weight. It is slow because you keep getting rebound weight gain. You will also suffer accelerated aging.
[Suresh] If you lose weight correctly, not only will you lose it but also maintain the weight loss. You will also be able to maintain your youth to a large extent. That is probably what everybody is looking for. They want to lose weight, be healthy, feel young and feel energetic. The only way is to lose weight correctly.
Quickest Way to Lose Weight is to Lose it Correctly
[Starts at 0:04:21.5]
[Suresh] With correct weight loss, you are healthier at old age. You don’t develop so many chronic diseases. Not only do you look good but your quality of live is good. That really makes sense. You want to lose weight and then sustain it as well as have a good quality of live. You can then enjoy your live to the fullest.
That is all for today from the Correct Weight loss team. This time, do it right.

Thirty years maintaining a healthy weight after losing 100 pounds gives me the experience to know how important sound nutrition and fitness training is to life-long healthy weight.
My experience has also led me to understand that consciously planning – a strategic approach – to attain and sustain a healthy weight is just as important.
