Successful weight loss is greatly influenced by your environment or surroundings. Our surroundings are either conducive for weight loss or weight gain. People fall of the weight loss wagon because their surroundings have all kinds of temptations.
Your Surroundings Affect Your Weight Loss
We are operating subconsciously most of the time. When you are doing something consciously, you will know it as it requires an effort. It is for this reason that we make a lot of decisions without even realizing their consequences. We eat candy because it is in a bowl that is within the reach in the office. We end up eating peanuts that are in a bowl in front of us. Others pick up pastries in the morning because the bakery is on the way to the office.
Change Your Environment for Successful Weight Loss
Take a step back and look at your surroundings. What is it that is not helping with your weight loss efforts. Have a look at your daily habits. Look at ways of changing your environment to aid you in learning some new healthy habits for successful weight loss.
Tips on Changing Your Environment
Here are some steps that you can take for changing your environment for more successful weight loss.
1. Use a Smaller Plate – Using a large plate results in you overeating without even you knowing it
2. Clear Junk Food from the Kitchen -Clear the refrigerator of all food that does not help your weight loss efforts. Keep cookie jars and other temptations out of sight.
3. Remove Temptations from the Office – Clear cookie and candy jars from the office.
4. Stay Away From Temptations – If your regular path to the office takes you past the bakery, look for an alternative route.
Help Yourself
These are just some tips for changing your environment. You need to evaluate your surroundings and find those things that are constantly sabotaging your efforts. You need to practice these new habits for at least 30 days. These new habits will then be planted into your subconscious and facilitate your weight loss efforts.

Hi Paramjit,
I’ve also heard that color has an effect on appetite. Red is supposed to increase appetite while blue suppresses it. People wanting to lose fat should consider blue paint in their dining areas along with blue plates.

Interesting about what you mentioned about colours. If using blue really works, it would be an extremely easy step that most people could take to reduce the amount of calories eaten.
