Exercising with your children allows both you and your child to reap the many benefits available. It builds parent-child bond as well as the child’s character. It instills the habit of exercise early in a child. It is one of those things that not many parents do. A child not only needs quality time, he also needs a large quantity of time. What better way to strengthen this relationship than spending exercise time with your child.

Every parent pledges to spend more time with their children. The challenge is that parents get caught up with day-to-day activities. Sometimes they get inundated at work. Exercising together forces parents to keep their time commitments. Exercise time is something that is most likely mutually agreed. You could be allocating an hour up to 3 times a week to play soccer with your son. Once this pledge is made, your son will keep you committed.

Build Your Child’s Character

Exercising with your child will build his or her character. Everyone can play a game once in a while. Consistently exercising over a prolonged period requires a deeper commitment. Without self-discipline, neither parent nor child will be able to keep it going for long.

Commit to Do it For a Month

In view of the countless benefits, commit to start some sort of exercise regiment with your child. Commit to carve the necessary time out of your schedule. Try it 3 times a week for a month and reassess if it is strengthening your relationship. This is the first benefit that you will see and this should be good enough to persist.
