Once More For The Kids
Here I am after many years and still struggling to get on a regular exercise routine. I eat relatively healthy but just keep dropping of the wagon in sustaining an exercise regimen which I know is crucial in keeping me alive and kicking. Make you want to join the nearest Exercise Dodger Anonymous, which unfortunately no bright spark has started despite its potential to be bigger than AA.
Failing again and again, man, really its no fun. Can’t be the company I keep as two of my best buddies are in prime of fitness. So in our frequent get to together where the latest discovery in getting to peak fitness is discussed, i feel my thumb & finger involuntary creeping to my forehead and making the letter L…..aaargh!!
Okay, I am not going to give up. There must me a be Jack LaLanne in me waiting to be unleashed.
Its dire when you are reminded that you actually start dying at 40 and its easy downhill from there until you meet your maker. An earlier article entitled People Start Dying After 40 says I am walking zombie for the last five years. Might not be far from truth since the only exercise I have done regularly for some time are ‘move and click’ the mouse and straining the eyeball. So before one of my limbs drop off suddenly like in the zombie movies, I need to get back to the world of living.
Actually, got my back against the wall, I love my kids to bits and one thing they want more than anything is for their daddy to be around for the longest time.
According to the Mayo Clinic in Fitness programs: 7 tips for staying motivated, the first thing is setting a goal. My very modest goal will be to lose an inch from my middle kingdom by end of this June just by eating normally but with exercise.
