A lot of people try to get weight loss without changing their habits. Habits cause weight gain and healthy habits can cause weight loss. It’s also your healthy habits that sustain your weight loss in the long-term.
Weight Gain is a Consequence of Unhealthy Habits
Most people do not realize that their weight gain is a consequence of their habits. Most people are not aware of their weight gaining habits. These weight gaining habits become so ingrained in everyday life that you may not even notice it. You may not be aware of the habits but you can certainly see the effects of your weight gaining habits.
Most people who gain weight plead their innocence. “Yes I eat some unhealthy food here and there but not always”. “I try to exercise when I can”. “I only drink occasionally”. “I don’t always miss breakfast”.
These people do not realize of the effect of the weight gaining habits that have taken control of their lives. Our minds cannot remember our negative doings very far into the past. Your mind will try to project the positive and suppress the negative. Your mind constantly reminds you of the one time in the week when you did exercise. The many times when you ate the pizza and burgers get stashed away in the inner chambers of the mind.
With all this happening in your mind, you wonder why you are gaining weight.
Write Down Your Habits for a Week
In order to change your weight, you must first change. Your daily habits must change. In order to change your daily habits, you need to first take stock of your habits. The only way to create awareness of your current weight gaining habits is by writing down your daily activities in a diary. Write anything that helps in losing weight. Also write anything that causes weight gain. This should be done for a week or two. DO it within the day itself. It does not work if you try to recall more than one day in the past. The mind starts amplifying the positive and suppressing the negative.
Once you have written weight gaining habits and weight losing activities over a week, review it. It will become clear to you why you are gaining weight. Be especially detailed about your eating habits.
Change Your Habits and Weight Loss Becomes Effortless
Anyone who has done such an exercise will very easily be able to find the habits that need to be changed. Thereafter, one just needs to replace these weight gaining habits with healthy habits. Remember that you cannot make a bad habit go away. It needs to be replaced with healthy habits. Weight loss or weight gain is a product of your habits. In order to change your weights, your habits must change. Change your habits and the weight loss would be effortless.
