Jack Lalanne Tips – Why Am I So Tired

|

A very small percentage of the population are energetic and active. Most of the people are sluggish. Getting through the day is a real effort. “Why am I so tired” or “Why am I always tired” are very common phrases among most people. If you can relate to this, read on and probably you might find some nuggets of wisdom from Jack Lalanne in the attached video.

Lack of Exercise

One of the main reasons for the “Why I am so tired” phenomenon is the lack of exercise. Jack addresses this in the video below. Exercise is similar to the Ctrl-Alt-Del button on your windows PC. It resets your system. Most people feel fresh and energetic after a good work out. People who regularly work out also have an active metabolism.

Some people are surprisingly hesitant to start exercise because they feel that it will further drain them of energy. They feel that they would feel even more tired. They already have a limited amount of energy to cope with every day life. Nothing could be further from the truth. Ask anyone who exercises and they will tell you how invigorating exercise is.

Empty Calories

Another reason for the excessive tiredness is an unhealthy diet. Empty calories that are devoid of useful nutrients drain you of energy. The most disruptive type of empty calories are those available in liquid form. Soda drinks contain an excessive amounts of sugar that spike your blood sugar level. When ever there is a spike in your blood sugar levels, there will always also be a subsequent dip. It is at the time of this dip that the tiredness comes in.

If you ever catch yourself saying “Why am I so tired” or “Why am I always tired”, take a step back to review your activity levels and your diet. Start moderate exercise and be consistent. Doing 3 sessions of exercise spread out in a week is more effective than 1 or 2 hard sessions on the weekend. Start consuming whole healthy food instead of processed food.

These two steps alone would make a world of difference to you energy levels. Here are further nuggets of wisdom from Jack Lalanne for the “Why am I so tired syndrome”.

  1. I think that exercise is often its own reward. A lot of guys I talk to in my coaching practice think that they have to beat themselves to death with exercise. The fact is that exercise is moving the body to your capacity. There is always room for improvement, but I believe let the exercise be for its own benefit and the weight loss and fitness will happen magically.
