One of the biggest challenges with starting to lose weight is procrastination. Everyone who needs to lose weight know that they need to lose weight. They keep putting off doing something to a later date. With each day of procrastination it gets more and more difficult as the inertia to start keeps increasing.
With each day of procrastination, the person’s self worth reduces as he or she feels powerless. They lose the power to act and make things happen. In the wake of this challenge, they feel and act weak. It is an unforgiving downward spiral as the act of procrastinating makes it more and more difficult to even get started on the given task.
The Procrastination Solution
The solution to procrastination is action. Procrastination makes you feel weak and inadequate. Your self-esteem is compromised as each time you put off something, you lose credibility with your self. Taking action will give you power. Doing all the things that you have put off will give you immense credibility with your self.
Taking action puts an end to the downward spiral. With each action taken, you have increased power to accomplish the next challenge.
Making a Decision
All that is required to start getting healthier or fitter is to make a decision. Make a decision on a start date and keep it at all costs. That’s all it takes to take charge of your health. Often, making a decision is the biggest challenge. People don’t often procrastinate doing a particular task. More likely than not, they procrastinate making a decision to start. Once the decision is made, the battle is already considered half won.
When to Start
You could start tomorrow or on the coming Monday. Starting on a Monday is a good way to start on a journey as it is the start of a new week. It also symbolically means the start of a journey. It is always easier to start on a Monday than a Friday or the weekend.
Alternatively, if you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, start tomorrow or immediately.
The Time is Now
There has never been a better time to regain your health than now. Now is the time. Make that decision. It could be joining a gym or starting your morning walk. It could be trying to eat healthier food or trying to lose some weight. What every your goal is, do it now. Set a start date and go for it.
