Eat Breakfast Like a King and Eat Dinner Like a Pauper
One of the most effective ways to lose weight correctly is by tapering calories. This mode of eating requires you to cut the amount of calories as you progress into the day. Tapering calories would mean that the biggest meal of the day is breakfast and the smallest meal of the day is dinner.
Lunch should be somewhere between. This is on the basis that the calories eaten earlier in the day have more time to be burnt as the day progresses.
Dinner should be light so that there is enough time for the process of digestion. Heavy meals at dinner time would result in the digestion process continuing even when the person has gone to sleep. As the metabolic rate slows down during the sleep phase, calories from the digested food during sleep would most probably be stored as fat.
Unfortunately, a lot of people have a very small breakfast or skip it all together. The largest meal of the day is dinner. This is akin to the diet of the Sumo wrestlers.
As such, eat breakfast like a king and eat dinner like a pauper.
