Weight Loss is Simple But Its Not Easy – Part 2

Correct Weight Loss Is Going to Take Time

When I initially took to the gym, I wanted to look like the male models on fitness magazines. I thought since there were so many people like that on magazine covers, it would be easy to achieve it.  Boy, was I wrong. I really wished  for a better physique and body. But meager wishing without a strong desire never leads to anything. I came to realize this after some time.  I needed to bite into my dream like a pit bull.  i disciplined myself and was determined to achieve this, come what may. I decided there and then that I am going to get in shape or I am going to die doing it.

My degrading health made me reevaluate my priorities. I  focused on finding time. I started going to gym after work. I found so much energy the moment I hit the gym. I couldn’t understand why I did not do this sooner. Its been 4 months now, and I have never done less than 4 days a week at the gym.

Success came slowly but surely

The most important thing to remember initially is that you wont see improvements if you don’t stick to your exercise and healthy eating regimen for several months. Anyone expecting overnight results is going to be disappointed.  Believe me, I used to be the guy who keeps wondering what quick fix supplements can I take to get those Greek God bodies in magazines. Now I know there are no short cuts that last or are safe. Whatever you try, the only way to get to your goals is through the good old-fashioned recipe of a balanced diet coupled with regular exercise.

Improved Health

By the time I met my doctor again, I was already exercising for a few months. The next blood results surprised knocked my doctor off his chair. Triglycerides reduced from an alarming level of 4.5 to 1.7. There were no more signs of diabetes. I had some flags raised in my earlier blood report on my liver as well. But this time the doctor gave me a clean bill of health. Exercise and the right diet truly is the best cure for any ailment. I felt renewed and rejuvenated. I was living life the way life was meant to be lived, to the fullest. And best of all, I rarely or almost never fall sick anymore.

My waist when from 42 inches to 36 but I am now gunning for a lean and ripped body.

I constantly get compliments. My colleagues tell that I look younger, and very fit. I now have no issues shopping and all my clothes fit extremely well. The protruding belly is gone. I look good in anything I wear. I actually look forward to seeing myself in the mirror and it has truly boosted my confidence. That only motivates me further at the gym and at work. I find I work better now as I am more focused and this is reflected in my work.

Weight loss works on the principle of the law of the farm. In the farm, the fields need to be ploughed. It takes time for the crop to grow. Nothing happens overnight But like the farmer, consistently being disciplined and eating healthy will bring definite results.
