President Obama finds time for exercise. What’s your excuse? – Part 1
I sincerely hope that this article will change the way you view exercise. This is what I set out to do when I started writing it! I also hope that it puts exercise as a top priority irrespective of whether you are doing it for health or weight loss.
I have found what I believe, would be the perfect role model to kick start your exercise program. Barrack Obama!
Anyone who makes it to President of the United States needs admiration. Barrack Obama is no less. But I totally stood in awe when I found out how this man committed himself to his exercise regime.
William Nelson from the Philadelphia Sports Club in Franklintown related his experience to ABC News when Obama was in town for a govenor’s conference.
“He always does cardio, usually the treadmill first for 20 to 30 minutes and then elliptical for the same amount of time,” said William.
“I didn’t see an ounce of fat on him,” Nelson, 32, told ABCNews.com. “He’s lean and he looked like he’s in great shape.”
One jogger at an adjacent treadmill couldn’t keep up.
“Barack was just too fast for him,” said Nelson.
The president usually combines cardio with strength training.
ABC reporters covering the pre-election campaign and the run up to taking the oval office say that Obama never misses his daily workout.
Moving to the White House changes one’s life drastically. Obama like any other, has his passions. He used to devote hours reading novels and watching television. He had also eagerly followed his favourite basketball teams. But his priorities changed drastically after taking office. He has sacrificed all these passions as well as other social activities. But the one habit that has persisted was his time devoted to exercise.
People like Obama, consider exercise as a requirement as essential as eating, drinking or breathing. It did not fall under the category of recreation as his other passions like reading novels, watching television, following basketball games and socializing. That’s right! Exercise was an essential requirement!
Most people can’t find time for exercise because they confuse exercise for a recreational activity rather than an essential activity for life!
Until one accepts the fact that exercise is an absolutely essential component of life, one will never embrace the habit. It has to come as second nature and it must make one feel uncomfortable when missing it. Its like feeling akward the whole day if you have not brushed your teeth in the morning.
My buddy Suresh said something very wise to me long ago. He said, “One has successfully embraced the habit of exercise when the pain of not doing exercise is more than the pain of doing exercise”.

A lot of larger women do not feel they deserve to look better or their focus is on the DIETING, which make them feel like a failure all of time, so why work out. People make all kinds of excuses for not working out but until they realize that this is part of their daily routine they will keep making excuses.
