We finally come to the part that tells you how you can accurately measure a beautiful body for women and a well defined attractive body for men.

In Part 1, we discussed in detail on why the weight scales and BMI are the wrong tools to achieve a well defined and attractive body. Using the weight scales and BMI for the purpose of sculpting your body is like trying to use a car to get you from Los Angeles to Sydney. It s just the wrong tool.

In Part 2, we explained how the Waist to Hip Ratio (WHR) of 0.7 is a fairly accurate representation of how far off a woman is from her ideal body shape. This measurement has been found to be valid for diverse beauty icons as Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren, Jessica Alba, Salma Hayek and even the Venus de Milo.

In Part 3, we explained how the Shoulder to Hip Ratio (SHR) of 0.75 and less provided a fairly accurate representation of how far off a man is from the ideal body shape.

Are simple WHR & SHR measurements sufficient to guide a person attempting to sculpt their bodies to achieve their end goals? Well its definitely better than weight scales or BMI but there is yet a better measurement tool. That is, to measure your body fat levels.

What is Bodyfat level

Your body is made up of fat, organs, muscle, blood, etc. Everything in your body that is not fat, is called your lean body mass. The idea is to go through a Correct Weight Loss program where one only loses fat while maintaining one’s lean body mass.

The Problem With Weight Loss

With weight loss, there is no possible way of knowing how much of your weight loss is from losing fat and how much is actually lean body mass? There is no benefit whatsoever from losing lean body mass. In fact it could be detrimental to health. Losing lean body mass also distorts one’s body shape. Water falls under lean body mass as well.

The other day, someone sent me a message saying that she lost 10 lbs in 5 days. Unbelievable! So I asked her what % of that loss was fat and what was lean body mass. I have not received a reply yet. According the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), healthy weight loss is losing 1 lb to 2lb of weight a week. If one is exercising and not starving one’s self, almost all of the weight loss can come from fat loss. Going above this limit can result in loss of lean body mass which has zero benefit. So this lady had achieved in 5 days what according to ACSM would take 5 weeks. Dumbfounding?

You pointed right thing here-thing that people tend to close eyes on-not every weight loss is beneficial-oposite -it is counterproductive!
If you loose weight fast-you will gain it faster again -cause every fast weight loss diet eats our muscles- that is why we gain weight faster next time-we have less “engine” to burn that extra calories

Great post!
