Exercise Slows Down Aging and Makes You Look Younger
I always knew that exercise made you look younger. There are tons of examples of exercisers who have aged gracefully. Ever heard of Jack Lalanne? He is a legend! Today he is 94 years old and still going strong. Check out his achievements on Jack Lalanne Feats.
Do you know what Jack Lalanne did on his 70th birthday? Here is an extract from his website
“Once again handcuffed and shackled, Jack fought strong winds and currents as he swam 1.5 miles while towing 70 boats with 70 people from the Queen’s Way Bridge in the Long Beach Harbor to the Queen Mary.”
What are you going to do on your 70th birthday?
Then there is Bob Delmonteque. If you have not seen Bob, be prepared to hold your jaw as you see his physique. At 84 he can put most young men to shame.

We all want to live long healthy lives. Most of the people can live up to 60 or 70 but they spend their last 30 to 40 years dying. Take a step back and read that statement again. Most people spend the last 30 to 40 years of their lives fighting diabetes or heart disease or high blood pressure and what not!
Bob Delmonteque and Jack Lalanne have always preached that exercise and good nutrition are the key. I thought it important to highlight the benefits of exercise on healthy and graceful aging. Lose weight correctly, maintain healthy weight and age gracefully. I also want to share an another article from Scientific American that now gives a concrete link between exercise and healthy aging.
The authors of the scientific study amongst others mentioned “………..researchers wrote, to suggest that the exercise mavens were on average as much as a decade biologically younger than the slackers.”
Yesterday I posted an article that gave the tremendous health benefits of exercise. For those who missed that article, please read “Does Exercise Really Make You Healthier?”. Not only does exercise make you healthier, it also makes you look younger (10 years at least) and it makes you smarter. Isn’t that awesome! Why wouldn’t someone want to make exercising a top priority?
Anyway, here is the article from Scientific American entitled “Work It Out: More Activity = Slower Aging”.

I noticed that doing partial reps is way more effective then full reps. But I suspect its best to do a combination of both. You start off with full reps then towards the end, you do heavier weights but reduced speed and only do partial reps. You will feel the burn being much stronger and your muscle development more rapid. A good example is the hammer curl. It should be just 90 degrees but lot of guys in the gym do full curls. I find that the 90 degree is much better. Then for a normal bicep curl, start with weights that are suitable, full reps and usual speed. Then add weights, slow down the speed and do half curls. The pain is really unbearable if you try to maintain the same number of reps per set but the results are obvious. Highly recommended for those who believe they have peaked and cannot progress further. Variety..the spice of life. Applies to muscles too…!

There was a recent article i read about some research done in japan about excersises benefits. It seems every day there is new evidence supporting this theory. Seeing the picture of bob and other similar seniors is pretty convincing and obvious of the benefits of excersise.
